Project Statement
The project envisions a future where environmental degradation and excessive consumerism have pushed society to its limit. It explores an innovative fashion concept, including a piece of clothing designed with plants, reflecting a society that ran out of oxygen due to extreme pollution. The emphasis is being put on the fact that clothes are so volatile due to the degradation of the materials; however, people do not care, as fast fashion unfortunately became the standard.
Video Documentation
After crafting the piece, I documented its decay over days, placing the recordings into a fictional snapshot of an imagined reality. Enter “Faded 21,” a store selling the new fashion norm. The human figure adapts to this movement, wearing floral clothing that signifies a blend of nature and fashion.
